Collin van der Sluijs is a renowned painter and illustrator from Maastricht, The Netherlands, where he lives and works.

He started writing graffiti at the age of 11. Already at the age of 12 Collin van der Sluijs attended the school for traditional painting in Goes, The Netherlands. Here he studied the (traditional) painting techniques and theory.

In 1996 Collin graduated and was then accepted for a 4 years painting and graphic education at St.Lucas College in Boxtel, the Netherlands.

Subsequently, Collin van der Sluijs started his studies in 2000 at the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Breda. He completed this study with a bachelor’s degree in illustration in 2004.

Collin’s widely recognized for his extraordinary dream-like depictions of everyday stories that question our personal pleasures and struggles, as well as society at large.

His exceptional work has been published in magazines and books, and shown in galleries across the world, amongst others in The Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, and USA.

The first solo show from Collin van der Sluijs at Vertical Gallery in  Chicago was a huge succes when all his art works were sold during the show in May 2016.
